Associate Account Executive (Commercial Lines
at DeWitt Stern in New York
Job Summary:
The world’s foremost independent risk advisors are busy, which is good news for licensed P&C brokers with an eye for the big picture and a knack for getting inside a client’s business. We seek an experienced Associate Account Executive with 3+ yrs of Commercial Lines brokerage experience. Candidates should be strategic thinkers who value honesty and possess a sense of urgency matched by integrity and an absolute commitment to client care. The Associate AE will be responsible for handling and servicing small to mid-size commercial insurance accounts, as well as assist Account Executive and/or Team Leader with larger accounts
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
The duties of the Associate Account Executive include, but are not limited to:
• Handles and services small to mid-size commercial accounts: places non-routine, complex business with review and approval of Team Leader
• Provide direct service to full range of accounts: answer client’s correspondence and phone calls, problem solve between companies and clients, answer coverage questions and company inquiries
• Prepare ACORD applications for new accounts as well as specific company applications: collect pertinent data required to successfully place risk and meet company guidelines
• Responsible for managing and processing daily mail, suspenses, cancellations, binders, certificates and schedule of insurance and prepare own correspondence to clients
• Review existing accounts and recommend upgrading coverages
• Manage bookkeeping matters
• Responsible for handling entire account(s)’ needs and ensuring efficient coverage is in place
• Attend User Group meetings as necessary
• All other duties pertaining to servicing accounts and/or other duties as assigned as deemed necessary by Account and/or Team Leader
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3+ years of commercial brokerage experience servicing accounts
• Valid P&C brokers’ license
• College degree preferred
• Must possess a developing knowledge of commercial insurance markets to place new/renewal business
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, esp. Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional organization and time-management skills
• Sagitta agency management system knowledge
• Self Self-starter, professional and assertive
• Be able to handle a fast-paced, challenging work environment
