PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To develop and conduct clinical training to promote quality in the clinical services of telephonic case management, utilization review and clinical consultation; to maintain a regular schedule of clinical training; and to monitor clinical training compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and conducts new hire and ongoing clinical training as directed by management and as indicated by data analysis.
Analyzes data as a basis to enhance established training material or develop new training.
Makes recommendations to regional clinical managers and clinical supervisors for clinical and technical training of staff; works with management to schedule appropriate training.
Develops and delivers training to clinical operations staff.
Monitors training compliance; reports findings to management.
Develops and assists with clinical supervisor training.
Develops and maintains a regular schedule of training.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supports the total performance management initiative.
Travels as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing
BS/BA degree preferred. Active RN license required. Professional designation in health related or quality field strongly preferred. Quality process improvement or human performance improvement skill training preferred.
Experience
Seven (7) years related experience required to include three (3) years case management and/or utilization review experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
In-depth clinical and technical knowledge of managed care and disability claims administration
Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
Knowledge of adult learning methodologies
PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
Strong leadership skills
Analytical and interpretive skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
WORK ENVIRONMENT
