Full-time IT Business Analyst - Accident & Health Insurance Exp Preferred

Currently, Chubb is seeking a Business Analyst for our Accident & Health IT Department in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.


Position Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst, you are accountable for:

•Working with users and IT teams to ensure high quality and timely systems deliverables
•Ensuring that solutions and systems provided meet business objectives
•Ensure that user requirements are effectively and accurately communicated to the development team
•Taking a lead role in the management and execution of IT projects
•Develop business specifications, test plans and user documentation
•Partnering with the business to analyze, document and validate the business requirements from the customer perspective
•Researching and evaluating alternative solutions and recommending the most efficient and cost effective solution
•Documenting detailed business/technical requirements and acting as a principal facilitator with the business partners
•Serving in an advisory capacity during the delivery and deployment stages for approved solutions
•Understanding the user’s current working practices, analyzing the business/user requirements and translating those into functional requirements
•Ensuring application functionality is implemented according to business customers’ specifications
•Gathering and refining business requirements, validating development efforts with business partners, developing testing scenarios and test plans
•Develop a general understanding of the business, products, operational processes, and strategic initiatives


Knowledge, skills and abilities:

-Proven ability to effectively implement business solutions within budget, meeting or exceeding customer requirements
-Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical staff in order to convey complex ideas both verbally and in written form
-Experience in the design, development, and deployment of Web based business systems
-Basic understanding of Object Orientated development methodology
-Experience in Accident & Health insurance is a plus
-Good analytical skills to effectively interpret the business in order to define and create business and technical requirements
-Ability to consider problems and solutions from a broad perspective
-Understanding/practice of project management methodologies
-Strong leadership and negotiation skills
-Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to achieve results within and across diverse organizational business units
-Strong facilitation skills to effectively lead a group to consensus, solve problems, and accomplish assigned task
-Ability to analyze complex and uncharted business, workflow, and technology issues
-Ability to predict, identify and mitigate risks
-Ability to gather translate business requirements into high level and detailed functional specifications

Education and Experience:
•College degree or equivalent work experience
•Minimum 4 years business analysis experience
•Practical experience working in a customer support role
•Minimum 4 years experience in the insurance industry
