Full-time Senior Analyst, Catastrophe Risk (reinsurance)

Primary Accountabilities 
This position will be an integral support role in assisting brokers with risk assessment and risk management consulting for our clients

Run catastrophe models from RMS/AIR/EQE/IF for portfolio risk analyses in support of placing reinsurance transactions
Prepare property insurance policy data for catastrophe risk analysis using MS Access, SQL Query and data conversion tools
Develop and use proprietary software to design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs
Respond to brokers, clients, and reinsurers on issues and questions relating to risk analysis
Provide real-time loss estimates of actual catastrophic events, such as the recent Florida hurricanes
Prepare and send catastrophe risk assessment data to reinsurers and participate in reinsurance market calls
Assist clients in the understanding of catastrophe risks, sensitivity studies, and added analytics based on catastrophe model results
Assist managers in enhancing relationships with clients 

Qualifications 
Related BA/BS degree, with strong mathematical and/or probability and/or statistical foundation
Proven analytical skills. Prior experience in catastrophe modeling, data clean up/validation/analysis from academic and/or business environment preferred
Proficient with Excel, SQL strongly preferred. Requires practical experience with MS Access or other data base management tools. Prefer programming or statistical applications background.
Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple assignments, work well with minimal supervision and meet deadlines in a timely manner
Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; strong team player and ability to work across organizational boundaries
