We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Benefits Analyst, located in our Grand Rapids Michigan office.
POSITION SUMMARY:
To work with the regional Health and Welfare group on assigned accounts and to manage key assignments for clients as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Primary responsibilities of this position to include: Growth and maintenance of Aon Consulting’s business on client work relating to H&W plan review, design & strategy. In addition, provide assistance in such areas as marketing support, legal compliance, client service issues, and interaction with carriers. Must possess a basic understanding of the H&W practice and have H&W expertise that is recognized by colleagues and clients.
Specific areas of expertise needed for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Strong understanding of financial measures
RFP review & preparation
Summary Plan Descriptions and contract compliance
Analysis of utilization reports, carrier reports, and claims data & trends
Contract review and benefit comparisons
Customer service & client communications
Custom & ad hoc reporting
Management reporting, and overall peer review of all work.
Development of presentations and meetings agendas
This individual will also provide a high level of client service support both internally and externally; interact effectively with Aon Consulting team and client managers; work to understand clients’ objectives and concerns; manage client open items list and respond to client requests and ad-hoc reporting requests as needed; maintenance of client information, (electronic) files, and carrier data. May work directly with client teams to ensure that all work is performed effectively and correctly, and serve as primary contact for client.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have 3-5 yrs of group Health & Welfare Benefits experience (either in brokerage/consulting firm or comparable carrier experience).
Individual should also possess strong business communication ability to give non-technical explanations to technical matters; Prepare and present clear, accurate & concise reports; be team oriented and understand values of all roles and functions needed in order to complete client projects and provide on-going service; possess ethical behavior adhering to professional standards and ethics in one’s field and demonstrate the highest level of integrity and honesty in all interactions; is open and honest in communications with others and takes responsibility for own mistakes or customer service problems.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
