Position Summary:
The Regional Casualty Manager shall serve in this capacity to assist the Branch Managers, Regional Vice-Presidents and the Director of Casualty Services in the handling and administration of casualty losses; and contribute to the profitability and growth of Casualty Services through marketing efforts and oversight of quality and compliance standards of branch service personnel.
Responsibilities:
Provides technical assistance on losses involving complex or disputed coverage issues
Review any claim with a potential E&O exposure
Review all claims with a reserve of $100,000 and over
May assist on any loss with a potential fraud element involved
Identification of training requirements for adjusters needing skill development
Investigates and resolves service complaints
Monitors compliance with licensing, certification and regulatory compliance by casualty adjusters
Assists in the selection of potential targets for marketing efforts within assigned geographic regions
Upholds the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times
Participates in special projects as requested
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong leadership / relationship / team building skills
Strong claim product and service knowledge
Excellent team player fostering collaboration with other business areas
Excellent communication skills ( written, verbal and listening ) and presentation skills
Strong negotiating techniques
Excellent litigation management skills
Good time management ability
In-depth knowledge of insurance coverages
Strong people management skills including training, mentoring and coaching ability
Understanding of the insurance / TPA Industry and market place
Experience:
Three (3) or more years of actual TPA, Insurance Carrier experience in casualty claims adjusting including complex losses, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating the ability to handle claims efficiently and effectively
Decision Making/Interaction:
Regular interaction with Branch Managers, Regional Managers and filed personnel of all levels internally and with Regional and Home Office Managers of existing and potential clients. Decisions may involve weighing of several options and negotiation.
Special Requirements/Certifications/Requirements:
Frequent travel; must have valid adjuster’s license
