Regional Vice President Consumer Lines
at Cathleen Brodbeck (Anywhere)
Lead Consumer Lines within Latin America region.
-Areas of direct responsibility are Travel, Personal Lines, A&H Life, Actuarial, Claims, Marketing and Communications, Reinsurance;
-Build long term multi country business strategies focusing on profitable growth, innovation and risk appetite that positively impact ROE and effectively manages risk.
-Provide vision and define strategic direction for Consumer business in the region and lead innovative change.
-Lead budget & strategy process
-Establish risk appetite by geographic zone or country within Latin America consistent with GE Consumer guidance.
-Define and own the requirements, priorities, price points, business and operating models for the LAR region
-Define framework and underwriting authority for countries and lines of business consistent with authorities delegated by the Global Consumer CUO and guidance from GE Consumer Head
-Establish framework to measure profitability and prioritize growth opportunities
-Ensure best practices are established and deployed around compliance and underwriting standards
-Proactively seek profitable growth – manage P&L (top and bottom line) – RAP
-Advocate for resources/capital for Latin America within GE Consumer
-Identify the product opportunities/set that best drive profitable growth; coordinate closely with Global Marketing in new product development
-Talent Management and Development
-Establish relationship with Commercial Head (for direct marketing opportunities) and Distribution Head (Sales arm) and create mutual goals.
-Transmit tools, techniques, methodologies and assets from Global Consumer within LAR
-Engage GE Consumer Head and team to implement solutions to address identified priorities/market opportunities and capitalize on strategic distribution opportunities
-Align exposure base alongside commercial
-Leverage all forms of distribution for consumer space (including Direct Marketing, eBusiness, Travel and ownership with Distribution for Agency & Brokers) – important that Consumer and Distribution effectively coordinate distribution activities in the Consumer space
-Ensure alignment of business strategies and activities with the requirements of applicable local and international regulations and corporate guidelines
Leadership Skills:
-Strategic orientation, managing vision and purpose, developing organizational capability
-Strong leadership and team building; Change leadership
Results orientation
-Strong influencing and communications skills and ability to work across multiple areas of company and industries
-Successfully manage business with comparative scale and complexity
-Proven experience with multiple country oversight
Technical Skills and Expertise:
-Broad based global insurance industry experience including overseas markets
-Preferred minimum of 15+ years of insurance operational management experience
-Analytical and quantitative skills
-Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and distribution
-Process and system skills
-General business knowledge and practical experience
-Self starter
-Change agent
