Global Energy Casualty, a Division of Chartis has available an excellent opportunity for a Credit Analyst position in the Downtown Manhattan offices.
The credit analyst’s responsibilities will include, but not limited to analyzing audited, un-audited, pro-forma and projected financial statements, SEC filings, outside industry reports, and offering memorandums whenever necessary. The position requires high quality, written financial reviews of the division’s active portfolio and high profile prospective clients.
In this capacity, the credit analyst will report and work closely with the division’s other analysts and CCO and assist / participate in conference calls with client CFO’s prepare credit risk committee applications and assist in the management of the financial review process. The financial review process encompasses updating and monitoring of financial covenants, respond to credit alerts, manage and report on division’s Canadian programs and unsecured exposure and negotiate letters of creditThe successful candidate should possess three to four years experience in banking or financial services, have a BA/BS in accounting, business administration or Finance, be able and willing to work in an unstructured environment and be detail oriented. An MBA (or classes towards) and/or a formal bank training program would be desirable. Strong writing and verbal skills are a must. Experience with commonly used credit applications and rating methodologies is a plus. Must be skilled in excel, Microsoft access, etc. On the job training will be offered in terms of insurance programs knowledge and associated underwriting and credit applications.
