PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide clerical support to assigned team; to input claim handler notes; to provide coverage as needed for switchboard; to process mail; and to maintain logs and statistics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES
1.Provides clerical support to assigned team including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, processing mail, inputting claim handler notes, answering phones, preparing files for storage, and maintaining office supplies.
2.Prints, sorts and distributes reports and forms; processes bills for payment.
3.Inputs checks into appropriate system(s), issues stop payments, and processes returned checks and recoveries.Prepares and distributes files for claim reviews, subrogation, and attorneys; completes and files state forms with appeals boards as appropriate.
4.Provides data entry support; maintains logs and statistics as assigned; handles administrative account work as assigned; and processes salvage titles.
5.Functions as switchboard operator and receptionist as needed; refers customer inquiries, questions and messages to appropriate party/parties.
6.Assists with benefits mailings (i.e. benefit notices and modified duty information) and obtains wage statements.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES
1.Performs other duties as assigned.
2.Supports the organization’s quality program(s).
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
Experience
One (1) year of experience in a claims environment required.
Skills and Knowledge
-Good oral and written communication skills
-PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
-Analytical and interpretive skills
-Good organizational skills and attention to detail
-Good interpersonal skills
-Good customer service skills
-Ability to work in a team environment
-Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
WORK ENVIRONMENT
When applicable and appropriate, consideration will be given to reasonable accommodations.
Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and ability to meet deadlines
