Area Sales Manager

Universal American, a Fortune 500 company offering affordable healthcare products and programs, is seeking an Area Sales Manager to join its team in Houston, Texas.
Essential responsibilities of the Area Sales Manager are as follows:
Train, develop and manage up to 30 independent agents indirectly and 4-5 Unist Sales Managers directly
Assist management in recruiting the branch sales team
Soliciting and enrolling Medicare Beneficiaries into Universal American benefit plans and other traditional insurance products and services that are made available from sales management
Coordinate senior related community events
Represent Universal American and its interests in the community
Adhere to the marketing guidelines as published and amended by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services
Be supportive of Universal American’s interest and goals in marketing to approve targeted populations
Required Experience:
5 years healthcare/life insurance sales experience
5 years healthcare/life insurance independent agent management experience
Licensed agent within the state of Texas
Proficient oral, written communication skills and demonstrated computer skills - bilingual preferred not mandatory
Exhibit strong time management and organization skills
Ability to be multi-tasked.
Professional appearance, detail oriented and an excellent work ethic
Ideal experience:
Medicare sales experience
