Full-time Commercial Surety Branch Manager –5+ Years of Surety Underwriting Experience Needed

We are currently seeking a Commercial Surety Branch Manager to join our Surety Team in Chicago, IL.

Position Description:
The Commercial Surety Branch Manager is responsible in the development and fulfillment of goals established for profit, service, relationship management with producers, accounts, competitors and other Chubb departments. They will operate within the branch structure and help train other commercial surety team members. They are also responsible for working closely with the Simsbury Home Office in the dual underwriting process and making recommendations and decisions according to established parameters.
Additional Responsibilities include:
• Actively travel to effectively manage assigned territory in order to maintain existing relationships as well as develop new business relationships to achieve department and Commercial Surety Customer group goals.
• Review and monitor all assigned account Reports of Execution (ROE) and documentation to ensure compliance pricing and underwriting guidelines.
• Produce new business as well as underwrite existing business in accordance with established underwriting guidelines.
• Make prompt and decisive recommendations.
• Provide prompt, reliable service to both our external and internal customers.
• Maintain complete and well-documented account files.
• Travel territory frequently, visiting with producers and accounts, to generate new business activity.
• Work with all staff, including manager and assistant manager, to meet overall department and branch goals.
• Responsible to ensure timely collection of premium.

Competencies / Tech Skills:
• The candidate must possess 5+ years of surety underwriting experience.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills required.
• Must work independently as well as part of an established team.
• Operate within the branch structure interacting with the home office, agency plant and customers.
• Drive the dual underwriting process by obtaining and analyzing pertinent underwriting information and then making well informed recommendations to home office.
• Must also demonstrate an ability to assist in the trainings and development of the less experienced team members.
• Strong organizational skills and overall business acumen required.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
