Full-time Subrogation Collector

at Progressive Insurance in Ohio


Subrogation Collector in Mayfield Heights, OH location.

Training Hours are Monday - Friday 9am - 5:45pm for 4-6 weeks.

Regular schedule is 12:15pm - 9pm Monday- Friday.

This is an entry-level collection position whose primary responsibility is to collect money from uninsured parties who are determined to be at fault for accidents with Progressive insured's. This role is responsible for contacting, convincing and solidifying payment arrangements with these at fault, uninsured parties. A predictive dialer determines which/how many files this position works.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Collection Calls/Negotiating
-Takes inbound calls from and make outbound calls to at fault, uninsured parties to make recoveries
-Sets up payment plans with at fault, uninsured parties
-Works on predictive dialer
-Documents claims accordingly
-Insured Status Calls/Customer Service
-Takes inbound calls from Progressive insured's for status updates on deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses.
-Set realistic expectations for customers regarding collections.
-Effectively explains subrogation process.
-Follow up on diary for delinquent payments on claims.
-Make necessary contacts in order to re-establish payments; make recoveries.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree - OR - High School Diploma with one (1) to three (3) years experience with the following:
-Sales, Collections and Customer Service
-Strong communication and negotiation skills
-Ability to handle pressure with regard to phone volume
-Ability to operate a personal computer

Preferences:
-Claims/Subrogation experience
