Full-time Claim Technical Assistant – Must Thrive in a fast-paced Environment/Industry Knowledge Strongly Pref

Position Responsibilities:
The Claim Technical Assistant position is an integral role within the Claims Department that will provide claim support to the CBC (Claim Business Consultants) staff in all key phases of the adjustment process, consistent with Best Practices. In addition, the technical assistant will perform key functions that support all Best Practices objectives while optimizing the technical capabilities of the claim staff.

Job Responsibilities

Claim Review Meeting (CRM) Preparation and Organization: Determines claims eligible for Claim review criteria by reviewing loss runs, SHI (Special Handling Instructions) and discussions with CBC; Distributes e-mail requests to adjusters; Maintains a diary system and follows up to ensure 100% return; QA’s/reviews Claim Review forms submitted by adjusters; Generates CRM list and time schedule and notifies adjusters of scheduled times and call in instructions; Collates and distributes complete CRM package to all meeting participants.

Creation & Distribution of Customer Specific Loss Reports: Prepares activation forms using information from account profile and policy lists; Creates customer specific loss reports based on agreed format; Prepare customized reports on an ad-hoc basis and distributes reports to all necessary parties.

Data Quality Management: Enters location codes (new or updates); Monitors claims for correct location codes monthly by reviewing new claims in the Claim system against location code lists; Investigates and corrects incorrect location codes; identified using either Dimensions or Claim system correction facilities; Monitors fields for accuracy especially if accounts have customized data requirements for GL/Auto and corrects as necessary; Prepares Pre Reserve Pay excel spreadsheets tracking payments on unreserved claims and updates monthly; Reviews claims on targeted accounts for SHI non-compliance and updates spreadsheets for CBC.

Special Handling Instruction Maintenance: Enters new account SHI using SHI template format and taking from CBC produced Word documents; Updates SHI on existing accounts as key changes occur; Converts existing SHI at renewal to the new template format for SHI.

TPA Monitoring: Request & follow up for loss reports quarterly on all TPA accounts; Distribute/file loss reports when received; Distribute shadow/excess claims to appropriate Chubb office using referral memo; Maintains a spreadsheet of all TPA shadow claims.

CBC Database: Updates accounts in the database at renewal with new premium/program structure.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience
• 2+ years claims experience preferred.
• Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
• Demonstrate proficient skills in the following areas: customer service, written and oral communication, team orientation, analytical and problem solving skills, demonstration of initiative and follow-through with work assignments.
• Demonstrate ability to independently manage specific claim file functions and concisely summarize and provide recommendations as required.
• Effective in identifying potential or developing issues consistent with Best Practices and making the appropriate recommendations for solutions.
