Currently, we have an exciting career opportunity for an Account Specialist in our Washington D.C. office.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Account Representative sells, services, and underwrites our established portfolio of P&C and Executive Liability insurance products to our Non-Profit clients and provides customer support to clients and prospects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Characteristics
Underwrite Directors and Officers Insurance for assigned Non-Profit clients with low to moderately complexity. Focuses on personal sales targets and retention numbers. May have special Program Management assigned that requires client relationship skills.
Maintains close working relationships with insurers – must be able to adhere to carrier insurance guidelines and provide analysis of data. The Account Representative will achieve successful results through telephone work (both incoming and outgoing calls) along with correspondence via email, fax and mail. Monitors, tracks and follows-up on proposals to ensure customer satisfaction. Provides customer support and assistance to both clients and prospects. Reviews renewals to determine the best options for clients going forward.
Representative Activities
- Meets personal sales targets as established, incorporating the full range of products/services within identified markets and programs.
- Responsible for underwriting, obtaining and servicing policies
- Conduct the renewal and maintenance of existing accounts
- Provides technical advice to client as needed.
- Prepares sales presentations and proposals to ensure successful outcome of transactions.
- May participate in special projects/programs as assigned, such as training or communications sessions within or outside of the company
SPECIAL SKILLS:
- The ideal candidate possesses 1-2 years work experience in the property and casualty insurance field, preferably in the management liability arena.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Experience with MicroSoft office suite produces (Word, Excel)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written skills
- P&C license required within 6 months of hire date
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1 + years experience in insurance sales / relationship management experience (P&C)
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
College degree
P&C license required within 6 months of hire date
