SUMMARY:
Responsible for administering testing on Claims IT solutions to ensure stable, low-defect production systems. This may include, but is not limited to:
•Conduct and/or provide support for the delivery of large testing efforts
•Conduct test planning, documentation and execution of functional, systems, regression tests to uncover defects and improve the overall quality of the software
•Provide technical guidance to more junior testers as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•The ideal candidate should be experienced with standard test methodologies, able to quickly acquire Claims IT business and technical knowledge to come up with robust test cases, and work against aggressive timelines.
•Participate in reviews and provide feedback on System Architecture, Design documents and Specifications from testing perspective.
•Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts and other test artifacts for multiple small, medium and large concurrent projects based on business requirements and design specifications document. Perform gap, traceability and testability analysis.
•Identify and maintain test data for projects.
•Execute test scripts during system and regression testing. Document results, manage & retest issues to resolution.
•Participate in daily status meetings for System Test and/or UAT daily status meetings as necessary.
•Assist with the ongoing automation initiatives with regards to regression test bed.
•Continually improve and expand the coverage and efficiency of System and Regression tests.
•Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status to be reported back to the Test Lead.
•Provide root cause analysis of defects found during release test cycles. Document all problems and assist in their resolution.
•Work closely with Claims IT QA Manager to ensure that all testing activities occur in a timely fashion and to identify risks and to develop mitigation strategies.
•Participate in scheduling of target dates for testing deliverables and prioritize and monitor the testing activities
•Interface with Claim IT Technical analysts and/or development teams to understand and resolve any quality issues that are discovered during any phase of the project life cycle
•Participate and/or act as a lead in the creation, preparation, and conduct of test reviews and the development and execution of test plans and test scripts
•Responsible for the evaluation of new centralized testing repository, automation and defect tracking tools.
•Manage defects and provide written communication and metrics on testing progress of application systems
•Provide mentorship/direction to junior test analysts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor''s Degree (required) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
•7+ years of hands-on software testing
•3+ years of experience with Quality Center/QTP or other testing tools
•Well-versed in all testing methodologies (white vs. black test work, system vs. functional)
•Experience with SQL and UNIX is required.
•Some development background is preferred.
•Experience with systems implementation and software development lifecycle
•Experience with Insurance claims business processes a significant plus
•Detail oriented and a problem solver
•Knowledge of application programming concepts and languages is desired
•Excellent verbal and writing skills
•Strong communication skills to work with various user groups and technical teams
•Must be a team player with “can-do” attitude
•Self-Starter – ability to quickly learn new tools and products.
•Excellent time management skills to multi-task across multiple simultaneous projects, tasks, defects, product releases
•Experience working in a fast-paced environment using Agile and Waterfall product development methods
