Full-time Sr. Casualty Claims Consultant

We currently have a career opportunity open in our Green Bay, WI office for a Sr. Casualty Claims Consultant

Description of duties & responsibilities:
- Must Possess knowledge of workers compensation, general liability, automobile liability and property claims in multiple jurisdictions. The position will also require interaction with other insurance coverage areas including inland marine, cargo, products liability, employment practices liability, homeowners and personal automobile.
- Conduct claim reviews on workers compensation, general liability and automobile liability losses with client personnel, carrier or TPA representatives and adjusters.
- Must be able to interpret insurance coverage and respond to reservation of rights letters or coverage declinations when appropriate.
- Conduct training sessions and seminars for clients on claims-related topics.
- Must be able to field a variety of questions from customers on such topics as return-to-work strategies, concerns with loss reserves, jurisdictional questions and claim mitigation options.
- Conduct claims audits of workers compensation, general liability, automobile liability and property losses.
- Produce articles on current claim topics for internal and external distribution.
- Coordinate the request-for-proposal process for selection of third party administrators on unbundled insurance programs
- Assist clients in developing claims handling procedures and instructions for implementation with their claims handlers.
- Prepare monthly reports and spreadsheets on current developments of open claims. Develop action plans and communicate claims handling strategies to all involved parties.
- Maintain and update monthly reports for the loss control department. These reports will include injury trend data, experience modification rates as well as injury type and severity.
- The position involves 10 – 20% statewide travel.
- Physical requirements may include occasional ladder climbing, inspecting damages at heights above ground level, walking over rough or uneven terrain, bending, kneeling and lifting.

Minimum education required:
Bachelor’s Degree, and property and casualty insurance license.

Minimum work experience required:
5 - 10 years of property and casualty claims experience with progressively increasing duties and responsibilities. Also must possess Work Comp. experience

Special skills required:
- The ideal candidate will possess good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with business customers, insurance carriers, medical professionals, attorneys, third party administrators and insurance agents. Good negotiation skills are required along with the ability to provide sales support to brokers and producers. The candidate must have the ability to meet deadlines.
- Physical requirements may include occasional ladder climbing, inspecting damages at heights above ground level, walking over rough or uneven terrain, bending, kneeling and lifting.
