The Central Insurance Verification (CIV) Department is an integral part of the Revenue Cycle, responsible for the verification of eligibility and benefits for patients scheduled at the University of Miami Medical Group (18 clinical departments which consist of 650+ practicing physicians) and the University of Miami Hospital Division (ABLEH & UMHC/SCCC).CIV performs verification of eligibility and benefits for approximately 950,000 visits combined (hospital based and physician-based) per year.

The Central Insurance Verification (CIV) is currently seeking a Supervisor. The person in this position is responsible for the operational management of the Central Insurance Verification Team in order to ensure efficient and effective business processes and customer service. In this leadership role, this position supports the University of Miami Medical Group and Hospital Division’s mission, vision, goals and objectives while focusing on all customers and the Revenue Cycle. The Supervisor directs, organizes and plans the activities of personnel engaged in the business operation, including those related to the Revenue Cycle. The Supervisor works closely with the Director of the Central Insurance Verification Department and other administrative staff to ensure department policies are compliant with all applicable regulatory guidelines.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows:  High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Five (5) years of progressive operational and related work experience, involving supervision of full time employees within a medical setting, preferably in insurance verification. Demonstrated excellence in customer service, problem solving, and project management is essential. A high level of computer proficiency and analytical skills are a must. Any appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevant work experience will be considered.
