This position will oversee all technical and administrative issues involved in the supervision, technical guidance and professional development of a team in the Employment Practices Liability Claim Unit. Responsibilities will include staff administration, coaching and development, managing business relationships, maintaining quality/service standards and managing financial claim results of the team.

Position Responsibilities: Ensure delivery of timely and efficient claims service through the daily supervision of Examiners. Provide technical guidance to staff on claim investigation, reserving evaluation and resolution of claims. Review individual Examiner work product and performance and providing each staff member with: Immediate and relevant feedback, Substantive and timely performance reviews and development plans, and Coaching and career guidance. Ensure effective controls of the use, work product and expenses of outside vendors. Develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers. Actively participate in committees, task force projects and resolution of more complex claims.

Knowledge, skills and abilities: Advanced level of expertise in all aspects of claims adjusting. Extensive knowledge of insurance contracts, investigation techniques, legal requirements and insurance regulations. Ability to motivate, direct and influence a wide variety of people. Ability to make timely and appropriate decisions. Demonstrated aptitude for evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in influencing unit to adapt to changing expectations and stay focused in an evolving environment. Proven ability to work well in a team environment. Innovative thinker with the ability to multi-task.

Education and Experience: College Degree and equivalent experience with Executive Protection claims. This position requires 5-7 years of insurance claims experience or insurance litigation experience as well as a demonstrated ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical, problem solving skills and team building skills required. Supervisory experience is helpful.
