Chubb Group of Insurance Companies in Kansas City is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriting Associate.
As an Underwriting Associate, you will assist underwriters in all aspects of underwriting, including approving and declining risks within your prescribed authority limits and communicating those decisions to the agent. You also review and update large risk files at renewal. You will prepare underwriting transactions which are outside your authority to be referred to underwriters with your recommendations. You will also perform preliminary underwriting reviews of binders and applications, including follow-up on missing information.
This position requires a desire to foster in a strong customer service culture by acting as a liaison between underwriters/producers/Personal Lines Service Branch (PLSB) when necessary and responding to their questions in a once and done manner. Responsibilities of this position also include any preparatory work or research needed to assist with underwriting projects and reports. The Underwriting Associate must be able to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
Skills Required:
• Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and function effectively in a team environment while staying organized.
• Ability to work closely with internal and external customers and effective teamwork is key.
• Proven ability to exercise initiative, decision making and judgment are also required.
• Prior knowledge of insurance and customer service experience is preferred.
