Excess Casualty Underwriter – 3+ Yrs Commercial Casualty Underwriting Exp Needed

Currently, Chubb is seeking an Excess Casualty Underwriter to join our CCI Team (Chubb Commercial Insurance) in our Seattle Branch.
As an Excess Casualty Underwriter in Chubb Commercial Insurance (CCI) in Chubb's Seattle Branch you are accountable for:
• Financial performance, including profit, rate, retention, and growth, of an approximate $4 million book of Excess Casualty business.
• Identifying opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources and developing and executing a new business growth strategy including developing prospects
• Successful market penetration and producer management with about 100 agents in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
• Developing producer management strategies and goals with continual monitoring of financial results.
• Identifying cross-sell opportunities within your assigned book of business, and across the Seattle and Portland branch book for assigned producers.
• Soliciting, selecting and analyzing risks within established underwriting guidelines and ensuring proper documentation
• Developing and negotiating price, coverage, terms and conditions for all new and renewal business.
• Meeting with producers, new and renewal customers to make sales presentations including product education and new product or industry segment roll-out
• Collaborating with underwriters, operations, claims, marketing and home office product management
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to document thoroughly and accurately according to internal and external standards
• Consistently meeting service standards
• Collecting and sharing industry intelligence with team, including industry trending and development
• Creating and executing local unique growth initiatives, monitoring and reporting back results, making adjustments accordingly.
• Communicating frequently and effectively influencing transactions handled by underwriting center resources.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Solid knowledge of commercial Excess Casualty underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices
• Demonstrated technical expertise and product-specific knowledge with experience handling commercial Excess Casualty insurance lines
• Strong analytical skills including financial analysis
• Demonstrated proficiency in sales, marketing and negotiation
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Has the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
• Experience developing and executing on marketing plans and prospects
• Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment
• Sound, balanced, and timely decision making skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 3-5 or more years of commercial casualty underwriting experience
• Ability to travel as needed including overnight travel
