Sr. Account Exexcutive (Employee Benefits)

Job Summary:
The world’s foremost independent risk advisors are busy, which is good news for licensed P&C brokers with an eye for the big picture and a knack for getting inside a client’s business. We seek a Sr. Account Executive with a minimum of 5 years of employee benefits experience with a broker providing account management services to clients of 100 lives or more. Candidates should be strategic thinkers who value honesty and possess a sense of urgency matched by integrity and an absolute commitment to client care. The Sr. Account Executive will be responsible for servicing all aspects of an assigned book of employee benefits business.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
The duties of the Sr. Account Executive include, but are not limited to:
• Manage client relationships and service client insurance needs
• Communicate with clients on new business, applications, account marketing, coverage requests, audits, and renewals
• Assist clients with all administrative issues, such as, but not limited to: claims processing, enrollment, billing issues and employee benefit inquires
• Manage annual renewal process: prepare renewal presentation to include marketing analysis, strategic planning initiatives, contribution analysis, network analysis and benchmark study. Advise clients of any options to save costs and to secure quality coverage based on their specific needs; assist clients with open enrollment meetings, employee communications and provide assistance with processing enrollment/changes forms and documents
• Communicate with clients on new business, applications, account marketing, coverage requests, audits, regulatory issues and renewals
• Prepare new business applications and participate in managing all aspects of new business process
• Enter new business opportunities, client data and communications of all forms into database
• Implement additional lines of business to existing clients
• Interact with employees of all departments, for greater understanding of our products and services
• Keep managers, executives and producers informed of significant developments on accounts
• Special projects as assigned by the department manager, such as analysis of the employee benefits industry, assessment of the insurance marketplace, policy forms and more
• Adheres to the DeWitt Stern Sales Credo
• Other duties assigned from time to time as deemed necessary by management
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree or employee benefits insurance experience preferred
• Valid NY State Life, Accident and Health brokers’ license
• Experience with marketing concepts and negotiation of insurance coverage(s)
• Client contact and sales experience preferred
• 3-5 years of previous experience with a Experience with marketing concepts and negotiation of insurance coverage(s); Minimum of five years of experience with a broker providing account management services to clients of 100 lives or more
• Knowledge of agency management systems
• Ongoing education regarding industry knowledge and changes
• Working toward obtaining insurance designation
• Experience with self-funding arrangements
• Ability to develop strong relationships with the clients
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills
• Detail oriented with exceptional technical and analytical skills and the ability to multi-task
• Strong understanding of local and regional carriers and plan options
