Senior Test Lead

• Job Description
Has the ability to lead in the preparation and conduct of Quality Control (QC) testing of new or modified applications/systems across multiple computing environments (e.g., web based, host based, distributed systems, client server). Has the ability to create or revise QC processes and procedures.
Provides guidance and ensures quality in the creation of standard test environments, test plans and test scripts.
Participates in the review of software releases with the IT staff and business partners in resolving questions during the testing process. Can identify specific test conditions derived from the business requirements. Is detail-oriented with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines. Needs to be flexible. Establishes a positive relationship with IT staff and business partners. Must be pro-active with issue identification and resolution. Will be involved in providing assistance and training to other analysts. Understands the process that is required to deliver software via change and release management. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
Note: Will consider Band 6 – Test Lead for this position.
Skills
Project leader skills required to lead multiple testing efforts simultaneously, including leading offshore teams. Has the ability to create, modify, and apply the QC methodology throughout the project life cycle, to assist and support the design, development and implementation of business applications. Possess extensive insurance knowledge with specialty insurance as a plus to design efficient and comprehensive test strategies, designs and business test scenarios. Has a strong understanding of test automation technology and the ability to incorporate into the test strategy.
Thought Leader who challenges the status quo by looking for ways to reduce the percentage of testing required on projects. Thinks outside the box when analyzing test designs, Quality Control (QC) procedures and standards to identify innovative ways to reduce effort while maintaining quality and comprehension. Assists in the development and implementation of QC metrics for identifying trends, assessing the quality of delivered application software and improve QC estimates.
Education
Bachelor degree and at least four years experience in a systems quality environment, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Excellent analytical ability, judgment, consultative and communication skills, and the ability to lead offshore resources, work effectively with business partners, IT management, and staff.
