Work Comp Casualty Claims Analyst-Risk Consulting

Currently, we have an exciting career opportunity for a Work Comp Casualty Claims Analyst. This position will be an outsourced role serving an Aon client located near Morristown, NJ.
Job Description
The individual selected to fill this role will report directly to the Risk Manager and be responsible for the management, coordination and analysis of insurance related claims.
Position has a heavy focus on workers’ compensation for all US States of jurisdiction. This role is an integral part of the Risk Management Department; the candidate will need to be able to function in a fast moving, energetic team environment.
Under the direction and supervision of the Risk Manager, assist in the administration of claims activity, for casualty claims (focus on workers compensation), including all record keeping and the preparation of analytical and informational reports
-Monitor/oversee claims handling, including corresponding with third party adjusters, with settlement authority on lesser-valued claims
-Act as internal claims resource to assist with investigating and compiling data and financial information to support client’s position on claims
-Responsible for maintaining claim files including file creation and claim reporting including establishing electronic files for self-insured exposures
-Assist the Risk Manager in conducting post loss-reduction techniques such as salvage and subrogation, as necessary
-Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with internal representatives, insurance brokers, Insurance Carriers and Outside Defense Counsel
-Provide oversight of and direction to operational level workers compensation coordinators
-Prepare claim status/analytical reports and facilitate communication to Risk Manager
-Coordinate and provide support to preparation of self-insured statutory filings
-Review and process invoices including legal bills and track reimbursement where applicable
REQUIREMENTS
-College degree required
-4 - 7 years recent casualty claims experience required, workers compensation focus strongly preferred
-Must have workers compensation claim handling experience in multi-states and in all States a plus
-Prior relevant work experience with an insurance carrier, insurance broker and/or commercial company risk function strongly preferred
-Knowledge of risk and claims management information systems. Working knowledge of VIAONE (Sedgwick CMS) a plus
-Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power point and CMS a must
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent prioritization and organization skills and attention to detail; good sense of urgency and ability to work independently
-Ability to interact with individuals from all levels within the organization as well as externally; strong interpersonal skills are essential
-Utilize skills to direct claims resolution and provide guidance on risk management policies and procedures
-Highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive, critical or controversial situations.
-Capable of functioning in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
-Ability to solve problems by considering courses of action within the framework of management's goals and standards.
