Full-time Underwriting Associate for Surety – Strong UA Experience with Excellent MS Office Skills

Current, Chubb is seeking a Surety Underwriting Associate for our Chicago, IL office.

The Underwriting Associate is responsible for providing support for Surety underwriters in managing renewal, prospect, and submission account information. Key components of the position include documenting changes in risk in order to facilitate underwriter analysis, maintain producer relationships and contribute to the achievement of Surety goals.

Fundamental Role Responsibilities:
• Retrieves and compiles information needed for analysis (such as: financials, news articles, board information, D&B reports etc)
• Enters financial statements into Surety system
• Tracks backlog and produces quarterly exposure reports
• Works closely with the Premium Accounting Department on resolving premium collection discrepancies
• Manages information exchange between Home Office and Surety Service Processing Center
• Adheres to established workflows
• Reviews and processes bond requests
• Manages a diary system for information follow-up

Key Competencies/Skills:
• Expertise with Word and Excel
• Demonstrates an understanding and knowledge of rating/pricing, underwriting principles, underwriting information
• Demonstrates effective use of underwriting/pricing tools
• Knowledge of general accounting principles
• Ability to recognize exposure to loss
• Demonstrates effective collaboration skills with internal and external audiences, including underwriters and agents
• Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced and changing business environment
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Proactive
