Position Summary:
Responsible for the management of staff in Chicago, Minneapolis and branch offices. Oversee general quality of reinsurance contract wording.
Job Responsibilities
-Recruit, train, and supervise team staff
-Review expiring wording, including related correspondence, and approve reinsurance contracts and attending documentation, based on completeness, accuracy and consistency
-Assist brokers, clients, and markets in resolving issues related to contract wording
-Participate in marketing presentations to prospective and existing clients (as applicable).
-Contribute to maintenance of library of clauses
-Monitor statutory positions, regulatory guidelines, judicial decrees, current wording issues and industry trends affecting reinsurance
-Review legal documents, including change of broker agreements (as needed)
-Develop curriculum, teach and evaluate students for the Contracts section of Aon Benfield’s Reinsurance Training program
-Perform other related duties as assigned
Primary Education/Skills Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or equivalent experience. Law degree, Masters degree and/or other industry-related professional designation a plus
-Minimum of ten years experience in reinsurance contract wording, or equivalent experience in reinsurance industry, with proven knowledge of reinsurance and insurance practices
-Successful completion of Aon Benfield’s Reinsurance Training or equivalent reinsurance training
-High degree of competence in English language
-Excellent leadership skills
-Strategic and analytical-thinker.
-Detail-oriented
-Ability to travel
