The Phoenix, AZ branch is seeking a Underwriting Associate with experience in Commercial Insurance Services.

Position Responsibilities:

As a Commercial Underwriting Associate you are accountable for:
 Collaborating with team members to achieve growth, profit, renewal retention, service and producer/client management goals for the Chubb Commercial Insurance in the Phoenix Branch office on assigned book of commercial business consisting of $8 -9 million in premium and approximately 175 policies.
 Gathering and analyzing account information (loss information, driver information, financials, loss control reports, etc.) and developing underwriting recommendations and pricing strategy.
 Completing, documenting and referring risk reports to underwriter.
 Handling individual risk inquiries from brokers/agents.
 Coordinating account processing for renewals and new accounts with underwriter and customer service representative.
 Providing rating and issuance instructions including appropriate forms, coverages, and final premium.
 Reviewing submission information with underwriter and preparing quote letter.
 Documenting underwriting analysis information in the electronic file; ensuring electronic file integrity.
 Binding coverage and/or processing endorsements within designated underwriting authority.
 Mentor developing Underwriting Associates.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
 Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 Experience handling complex accounts
 Strong account coordination skills
 Ability to multi-task and to independently prioritize competing demands /requests within given time constraints.
 Advanced knowledge of product-specific coverage, policy forms, pricing tools, regulatory compliance
 Ability to independently accept, modify or reject risks based on analysis of underwriting information.
 Recommends and implements solutions to process challenges.
 Demonstrated ability to coach others.
 Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.


Education and Experience:

 High School Diploma or equivalent
 Some college preferred
 3 - 5 Years commercial underwriting or UA experience
