Full-time Director, Managed Health Resources

Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS) is looking for seasoned management professionals to fill 2 Director-level opportunities within the Managed Health Resources Group. One of the leading systems in the Southeast, CHS, comprises 33 hospitals and 6,315 licensed beds.

Through a network of more than 600 care locations, CHS employs more than 1,700 physicians and more than 48,000 full time and part time employees. Carolinas Medical Center (CMC), the flagship facility of our system with 874-beds, is a Level I Trauma Center, an academic teaching hospital and houses a research institute and a large number of specialty treatment units.

The Director, Managed Care Analytics (Job ID #203605) develops and maintains analytical tools, manages and trains staff, and uses data to provide recommendations on reimbursement methodology and rates for managed care contracts.

The director will prepare financial analyses of current state, model the financial impact of potential reimbursement methods and rates, and determine the optimum structure and rates for MHR proposals during negotiations with managed care organizations.

Working primarily within MHR for the MHR management team, the Director, Managed Care Analytics is largely impacted by the managed care contracting cycle. The Director, Managed Care Analytics also has regular and frequent interactions with CHS Senior Management.

Director Managed Care Contracting & Payor Relations (Job ID #205424) Responsible for Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS) managed care portfolio performance for assigned payors. Ensure appropriate planning and execution of each negotiation. Manage staff to ensure appropriate contract rates and language are negotiated within established deadlines with yields that meet or exceed budget.

Assist with development of contracting strategy for the System, and ensure implementation of strategy through contracting activities. Oversee communication and resolution of operational issues between CHS and assigned payors. Proven track record of closing negotiations (language and rate) on time and at or exceeding budget expectations. Required to have closed negotiations for a major payor/major system, prefer experience with a multi-entity system and/or a large physician multi-specialty group.
