Senior Consultant - Insurance

Mission
Work closely with the head of the asset management business and other senior consultants to further develop McLagan’s insurance benchmarking and compensation consulting business.
Critical Responsibilities
-Relationship Management: Call on senior managers at major insurance companies and insurance brokers to expand existing client relationships and build new client relationships. Extend McLagan’s relationships beyond HR to include senior leaders within finance, strategy, sales, and executive management.
-Product Development: Serve as a product manager or co-product manager of existing pay and performance benchmarking products. Conceive, develop, launch, market and manage new pay and performance benchmarking products that leverage McLagan’s existing capabilities, relationships and reputation.
-Consulting and Advisory: Working with existing and new benchmarking products, provide clients with compensation consulting and business advisory services related to, for example, pay program design, market pay and business positioning, and competitive pay and business practices.
“Must Have” Qualifications
-Minimum of eight years of business experience in an insurance company, insurance broker or a consulting firm serving the insurance industry.
-Existing contacts at mid- and senior-management levels within a range of insurance companies.
-An entrepreneurial work style that will allow success in an unstructured environment.
-A direct, hands-on personal style required for business development and execution.
-A proven track record in developing and managing business relationships.
-Experience managing small to mid-size project teams and/or business unit(s).
-Outstanding academic credentials.
-A strong work ethic with a “can do” attitude required for success within a medium-sized firm.
Desirable Qualifications
-Some experience in compensation plan design and/or administration gained in a business planning, staff, HR or other administrative support role.
