Our Underwriting group is seeking a Product Analyst to work on a broad range of analytical projects required to develop and maintain competitive and profitable auto and home insurance products. The Product Analyst would be responsible for analyzing and recommending price and product changes, including target markets, underwriting guidelines, coverage options, policy forms and pricing methodologies. To this end the Product Analyst will need to be able to utilize and extend our product databases and analytical cubes so experience with database tools and concepts is required.
Ideal candidates will have the desire to work in a cooperative and team-oriented environment, be self-motivating and have a strong work ethic. Additionally, he/she will have a solid foundation of analytical and statistical skills gained from related coursework and practical work experienc
REQUIREMENTS:
-BS or MS degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, statistics, or related field
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-1-2 years of work experience in pricing or analyzing auto and/or homeowners insurance
-Experience with database tools: Strong SQL skills and a grasp of relational database concepts are required.
-Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or IBM DB2 is a plus.
-Experience communicating business requirements to technical developers
-High level of intellectual curiosity and creative problem solving skills
