PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To lead a team of claims processors and drive Quality, Customer Service and overall development of staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES
Manages assigned team ensuring appropriate claim disposition, reduction of pending file count and consistent delivery of accurate and timely claims processing.
Reviews claim files, provides direction and problem resolution to team as needed.
Provides technical expertise in claims handling process for team.
Ensures team is meeting quality standards; develops corrective action plans to resolve problems and issues as needed.
Analyzes and communicates customer satisfaction survey results to team.
Mentors and develops high performing teams in order to meet overall organizational goals; manages change through communicating clear expectations; monitors results to achieve objectives; and develops corrective action plans.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supports the organization’s quality program(s).
Travels as required.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.
Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions.
Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
College degree or equivalent experience required.
Experience
Claims handling experience required; licenses as required.
Skills and Knowledge
Expert knowledge of claims handling in associated line of business
Good oral and written communication, including presentation skills
PC literate including Microsoft Office products
Leadership/management/motivational skills
Analytical and interpretive skills
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
WORK ENVIRONMENT
When applicable and appropriate, consideration will be given to reasonable accommodations.
Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and ability to meet deadlines
