Affinity Insurance Services, a division of Aon, is a full-service insurance broker/administrator specializing in the marketing and administration of insurance programs for Aon’s affinity customer groups. We are the vital link bringing together these groups with underwriting companies. For the underwriting company, we provide the marketing and administrative expertise necessary to maximize their policy sales.
Currently, we have an exciting career opportunity for an Underwriting Rep at our Hatboro, PA office of Affinity Insurance Services, Inc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preliminary review of applications.
- Compile and summarizes pertinent data onto underwriting worksheets
- Follow up with customers and request additional information to be used to facilitate the application process
- Review correspondence, records, and reports to select routine matters for processing
- Escalate risk-involved matters that are beyond assigned authority to underwriter for evaluation
- Prepare requisitions for and reviews credit and motor vehicle reports, results of investigations, and other
insured information.
- Follow underwriting guidelines and compliance procedures
- Enter and maintain data in computer system
- Support customer service area as needed by answering inbound 800 line calls
SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Demonstrated ability to work with detail and possess strong problem solving, communication and
organizational skills
- Goal-oriented with the ability to solve problems
- Sound judgment and decision-making and explains reasoning for decisions
- Learn multiple products to support revenue growth for program business
- Ability to identify process efficiencies and handle daily activities in a thorough and accurate fashion
- Strong PC skills with a solid knowledge base in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software
- Ability to work within the underwriting guidelines with appropriate follow up skills
- PA Property & Casualty license required within six months of hire date
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
High School graduate, college degree preferred.
P&C license preferred... required within 6 months of hire date.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
3 years insurance and/or general business experience
