State Filings Analyst – Previous Insurance Experience Needed – Excellent Analytical Skills

Currently, Chubb is looking to fill a State Filings Analyst position within Chubb Personal Insurance (CPI) in our Whitehouse Station, NJ office.
The CPI State Filings Analyst is responsible for a multitude of tasks including the preparation and submission of filings for CPI products and programs to all State Insurance Departments
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for submitting filings to State Insurance Departments for assigned states.
• Responsible for determining appropriate filing fees based on state requirements and obtaining checks via SERFF.
• Responsible for direct contact with State Insurance Departments for the purpose of obtaining approval of our filings as expeditiously as possible.
• Ensures an effective level of communication and interaction with members from the Actuarial, Underwriting, Business Resource Group, and General Counsel for information necessary to complete a filing and secure an expeditious approval.
• Distributes state objections to the appropriate individuals and ensures responses are received within the required timeframes.
• Obtains copies of statutes and regulations that have been referenced in state objections for review distribution to the responsible party.
• Finalizes responses to criticism letters with appropriate attachments for electronic or paper submission to the Insurance Department
• Maintains and monitors a detailed history of each filing from submission through approval by updating Project Tracker and internal manuals.
• Maintains paper library of filing documentation, including correspondence and approvals for each submission.
• Communicates filing status to appropriate individuals throughout filing process.
• Completes close-out of filings in accordance with established state filing procedures.
• Assists in gathering information and documentation in response to Market Conduct Examinations, Claims Requests and Internal Audits.
• Assists in responding to special inquiries from Insurance Departments and Industry Organizations.
• Works closely with client departments to ensure accurate and complete information.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Knowledge of personal lines property and liability coverages a must.
• Knowledge of rate and rule manuals and their interrelationships a must.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required to communicate with internal and external customers.
• Superior organizational skills required to handle and control multiple assigned filings at various stages of submission and approval.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting insurance regulations.
