Experienced Underwriter with Excellent Marketing Skills – Knowledge of Specialty Lines Preferred

The New Jersey Branch seeks a Chubb Specialty Underwriter for our field operation.
This CSI Underwriter will serve the NJ marketplace with an emphasis on Private and Not For Profit Companies. The Underwriter will market and underwrite new and renewal business for approximately $3 Mil book of Chubb Specialty field business and be responsible for approximately $1 mil New Business Goal. There will be a heavy emphasis on new business production, broker management and CSI marketing. The applicant must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment to gain an understanding of both branch and CSI business unit growth strategies including a track record of executing marketing plans. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the development and execution of specific business plans for assigned brokers. Travel consists of broker visits in the NJ area as well as participate in client visitation.
Job Responsibilities Include:
• New Business Development with mid-sized brokers
• Weekly travel to agents/brokers to support new business development
• Development and execution of strategic marketing plans for assigned agents to increase submission flow, new business writings, and product deployment.
• Support branch efforts at agency differentiation and tier management.
• Execute marketing, educational and promotional plans for brokers.
• Proven history of communication and execution on various CSI growth initiatives
• Must be a self-starter who is highly motivated
Skills:
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience marketing/sales and underwriting professional lines products for private and Not for Profit business.
• Preference for experience to include key product lines: Directors & Officers Liability insurance, Fiduciary Insurance, Employment Insurance, Crime/Kidnap & Ransom and Professional liability insurance.
• Candidates must have a good working knowledge of these products.
• A strong knowledge of the competitive landscape for specialty business is a plus.
• The ability to articulate key value added features and benefits of Chubb's products relative to our competitors is critical.
• The candidate must possess a creative marketing flair and have a proven track record in building long-term agent/broker relationships under changing/different market conditions through broker education and quality service.
• Strong marketing, sales and negotiation skills along with solid analytical and financial statement knowledge are required.
