PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide effective leadership for assigned area(s)/office(s); to achieve strategic operating results in quality and services; and to oversee claim handling, supervision, coaching and mentoring, quality assurance and customer satisfaction for assigned area(s)/office(s)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages day-to-day operations of assigned areas(s)/offices(s).
Maintains, effectively communicates and teaches a thorough understanding of business vision, strategies and plans for the achievement of business goals.
Manages and implements change; provides clear explanation of change drivers and business goals; promotes change and new initiatives and effectively manages resistance and impediments.
Assists in the development and management of operations budget for assigned area(s)/office(s).
Implements and analyzes the impact of cost containment initiatives; monitors financial results, trending and variances from target; identifies and implements appropriate adjustments.
Manages investigation, litigation, disposition and settlement of claims in compliance with best practices as well as statutory, regulatory, ethics and company requirements.
Maintains thorough understanding of sales and marketing business strategies to assist in achievement of growth and profit goals; maintains thorough understanding of claim industry and third part administrator trends to assist in identification of positive and adverse impacts.
Participates in development of sound, effective and mutually supportive relationships with carrier partners; assists in managing carrier partnerships to enhance cross-education on claim initiatives, financial impacts, service capabilities and customer needs.
Provides effective leadership in ethical decision making and affirmative inquiry in managing to the company's code of conduct; adheres to legal and corporate requirements.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supports the organization's quality program(s).
Travels as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.
Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance reviews.
Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Licenses as required. CPCU, CIC, SCLA or other professional designation preferred. Each year of experience beyond the requirement may substitute for one (1) year of post secondary education.

Experience
Nine (9) years related experience required to include two (2) years supervisory/management experience. Advanced degree may substitute for three (3) years of required experience.
