Claims Specialist, responsible for managing day-to-day activities of claims unit for our client.
Position will be outsourced through Aon Global Risk Consulting, located in West Suburb of Chicago
Position Summary:
Manage all aspects of the company's workers' compensation program, fleet and general liability. Support customer service department on high reserved product liability claims. Develop and implement strategic processes, procedures and programs to achieve cost containment and cost reductions. Principally responsible for coordinating and overseeing claim resolution opportunities, settlements, denials and litigation management; return-to-work management, managing the insurance carrier to ensure effective administration, and providing consultation and partnering with the operations group. Work closely with Corporate Risk Management department in the negotiations of the casualty insurance, claim management and claim systems programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Formulate and deploy strategies and policies to direct workers' compensation, fleet & general liability claim management. Such strategies to include reporting procedures, accident reconstruction, providing guidance to third party adjustors, claim management, medical management, claim closure, return-to-work efforts and employment issues arising out of return-to-work efforts (i.e., ADA issues, wrongful termination, job descriptions and union contracts).
Manage all vendors to ensure effective claim and program management.
Monitor and/or develop claim strategy on difficult and large claims. Determine methods to close old claims in order to minimize large loss development.
Develop and deliver training programs to field personnel (i.e., region, plant, zone) to support the workers' compensation claim management program.
Provide consultation to field human resource representatives and operations representatives.

Manage the Master List of Locations and contacts for use with FNOL, TPA's and internal contact information. This may include fielding questions, user enhancements, USER ID implementation, ongoing communication, training and issue resolution.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required. Must have extensive related experience in lieu of a degree.
A minimum of five years workers' compensation experience with exposure to workers' compensation claims handling and injury/illness prevention management.
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent administrative and organizational skills
Computer skills in Windows environment, working knowledge or Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes software, on-line claims data base systems
