Objective
Responsible for the servicing, program, insurance marketing, and administrative oversight of construction wrap-up oriented business.
Responsibilities
- Perform the following tasks for new and existing wrap-up clients with appropriate assistance/supervision:
- Assist in creating a service business plan for new and existing wrap-up clients;
- Establish project measurements for service performance on wrap-up business;
- Assemble project and underwriting information from the client into marketable material for carrier introduction;
- Create coverage specifications;
- Deliver and present submissions and applications to the markets and participate in the marketing and negotiation with the client and carrier;
- Review quotes and prepare client proposals and program summaries;
- Participate and assist in preparing presentations to clients;
- Review sample policies and prepare policy reviews for clients;
- Bind coverage with underwriters and review binder details and compare to the proposal and negotiated terms;
- Review administrative manuals, completed final policies, open items, and mail or deliver project policies and administrative materials to clients.
- Respond to and fulfill open activities generated in the system.
- Support Producers in the sales and marketing of wrap-up and construction-oriented business as directed.
- Create, monitor, and perform tasks assigned under the Client Service Plan. Work with other departments to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing delivery of Client Service Plans.
- Generate periodic stewardship reports for clients. Arrange loss run schedules for the client in conjunction with stewardship agreements.
- Responsible for the accuracy of work performed by Account Administrators and others; may perform tasks not assigned to Account Administrators. Provide assistance and direction to Account Administrators on audits. Support Wrap-Up Administrators as needed.
- Work with Accounting and Account Administrators to resolve accounting criticisms.
- Participate as a member of the construction (wrap-up) practice group to enhance the delivery and marketing of business products, locally and nationally.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related program preferred or equivalent education and/or experience required.
- Three to five years’ working knowledge of commercial property and casualty coverages and services required.
- Construction and/or real estate development experience preferred.
- General understanding of construction mean and methods, bidding and contractual agreement structures, and the application of coverage with regard to construction exposures.
- Experience in marketing (client and carrier orientation) and servicing the insurance needs of commercial accounts preferred.
- Must understand commercial rating concepts and be able to apply those concepts to create financial and exposure-based feasibility studies for construction projects.
- Experience in creating client friendly stewardship reports, project procedures, administrative wrap-up manuals, and client program service plans preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Strong mathematical and data application skills required.
- Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with associates at all levels of responsibility, along with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
- Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines required. Must be results oriented with the ability to change priorities as needed.
- Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation, and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
- Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and night.
