Position Summary
The Quality Services Regression Manager has the responsibility to manage all aspects of regression testing, including:
o Execution of automated test scripts and analysis of the results
o Manual test execution
o Defect identification and documentation
o Production of test metrics
o Driving down cost and improving the turn-around time for test execution activity
o Development of regression test strategies for critical Commercial IT applications
o Application of Alternative Resources for test execution
Position Responsibilities
• Accountable for effective and timely completion of regression test execution activities, including:
o Effective allocation of resources to meet changing project demands
o Efficient test execution, as measured by time to complete per script or other productivity measures
o Effective identification of defects, as measured by defect removal efficiency or other similar metrics
o High quality test execution activity
o Production of daily test execution results metrics
o Collaboration with test leads and project managers to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Accountable for the development and management of regression test suites, including:
o Identifying regression testing strategies and scenarios
o Collaborating with the test automation team to build out automated scripts
o Ensuring regression test suites are updated to incorporate new functionality
o Continuous improvement as demonstrated through increased code or functional coverage
• Proactively works with the PMO, Quality Assurance Program Manager, and project managers to forecast resource needs and skills to establish, manage, and optimize a workforce that supports current and longer term strategic objectives of the organization.
• Establishes and maintains metrics which measure resource management effectiveness.
• Manages staff performance in accordance with Corporate HR guidelines, working closely with Project Managers and other constituents to obtain feedback on staff.
• Works with Learning & Development, vendors, etc., to establish diverse approaches to staff skills development.
• Manages assignments of alternatively sourced staff.
Knowledge and Skills
• College degree, advanced degree or certified in systems testing or equivalent work experience
• 4-6 years of hands-on software testing and management experience with significant testing and/or automation experience or relevant certification
• Knowledge of System/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and a clear understanding of the role of testing in the Testing Life Cycle including the practical knowledge of applying these methodologies to day-to-day operations and projects
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused, dynamic environment with minimal supervision
• Experience executing performance testing using Chubb standard tools
• Proven ability to scale testing approaches to meet demand
• Experience managing external source providers
• Strong understanding of IT environments, technologies in relation to business needs
• Strong conceptual, analytical and decision making skills
• Strong interpersonal / relationship management skills
• Strong project management skills, including ability to execute and prioritize a number of tasks simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Location may be Simsbury, CT or New Jersey
