Full-time Technical Lead - Business Systems Support

Position Summary

• Lead a team of Release Managers, Build Managers, and Technical Support Staff
• Define, continually improve, and oversee the release and build management process
• Provide/maintain time estimates for tasks, check points, deliverables and reviews to be included in project plans
• Drive and measure leveraging of talent, solutions and best practices across Commercial IT and Chubb IT

Position Responsibilities

• Accountable for leading the release and build management practices and processes according to SDLC standards for Commercial IT systems and applications
• Responsible for staff management functions in unit. Accountable for managing/monitoring staff performance in accordance with Corporate HR guidelines
• Work with Commercial Managers to understand Commercial IT and Commercial strategy and their implication to the platform, technology or application under responsibility
• Ensure a good balance of team composition and where applicable use outsourcing staff augmentation
• Participate in project planning sessions with Commercial team members to analyze business and technology requirements and outline the proposed release plans
• Establish strong working relationships with technology team members, functional counterparts, vendors and related business partners
• Collaborate closely with technology management in project prioritization/ planning to understand future resource needs
• Promote effective teamwork and manage the resolution of interpersonal issues
• Promote the use of knowledge management processes and tools
• Ensure clear metrics are defined, implemented and tracked to measure performance, skills, throughput and quality of work

Knowledge and Skills

• Bachelor''s Degree (required), Master''s Degree (preferred)
• 5 – 7 years progressive experience with systems and applications development
• Expertise in technologies applicable to the application development and maintenance functions
• Experience with the project lifecycle and the application development lifecycle
• Experience with staff augmentation with the IT Industry
• Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization
• Experience leading a team of application developers
• Experience with providing guidance and direction to staff
• Experience in initiating, conducting and facilitating discussions with multiple stakeholders, and ability to translate the results and issues at hand to the business and to the IT teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal / relationship management skills
• Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
