Staff Accountant – Reinsurance Accounting

Education:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting requiring a minimum GPA overall and in major of 3.0. One to 2 years of accounting experience preferred. Prior insurance/reinsurance experience a plus.

• Ability to proactively address issues that impact the unit and offer recommendations
• Aptitude for learning systems
• Ability to work late during peak periods.
Position Description
The Reinsurance Accountant is responsible for:
• Identifying, calculating, billing, and processing reinsurance recoverables for treaty, facultative, and captive agreements
• Analysis of ceded results and preparation of supporting exhibits
• Establishing reinsurance generation parameters in the reinsurance system
• Ad hoc research and reconciliation projects
• Assist in preparation and analysis of Schedule F.
