SIU Investigator Opportunity – Insurance Knowledge with Investigative Experience Preferred

Our Claims Department has an exciting career opportunity for an individual who enjoys independent problem solving and utilization of their interpersonal and collaboration skills. This SIU Investigator will work to build relationships with insureds, defense counsel, claimants and producers. This First Party SIU Investigator for Property Claims will be housed out of New Jersey.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for investigating first party property claims of a questionable nature with potential arson or fraud related concerns. Candidate will be responsible for the efficient and consistent delivery of service to our customers and business partners that meets or exceeds Chubb's standards and complies with all applicable statutes and regulations. The candidate will be expected to develop highly detailed background information on these questionable claim scenarios that will lead to a coverage determination arising out of first party property claim submissions. The candidate will be expected to interact and communicate with various claims and underwriting partners as well as legal counsel, local law enforcement and other regulatory organizations.
Frequent travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic territory is required.
Competencies/Technical Skills:
• Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of experience as an investigator in law enforcement, Army CID, private sector or first party insurance claims.
• Candidate must have knowledge of insurance contracts, investigative techniques, legal requirements and regulations; must be familiar with insurance fraud statutes: must have the ability to work with and communicate with a wide spectrum of people, and develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers.
• Proficiency with Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel needed.
• This candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be customer service oriented and possess a basic understanding of Personal and Commercial lines insurance contracts.
Education:
• College Degree and/or Related Experience.
• Prior investigative or law enforcement experiences a plus.
