Aon Underwriting Managers

Job Title: Claims Examiner 

Summary
This position handles to a conclusion all property or casualty files assigned. Interacts with internal and external parties and insuring partners to successfully resolve claims made by or against our policyholders.

Essential Job Functions
Investigate and verify coverage and if necessary, analyze coverage issues; resolve in accordance with insurer protocol by drafting coverage letters for the carrier.
Investigate, analyze and evaluate damages and liability factors, including risk transfer opportunities and third party involvement
Demonstrate an awareness of jurisdictional nuances impacting claim evaluation
Establish and monitor loss and expense reserves within authority level
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
Interact with our Carrier Partners by completine reports timely and accurately in compliance with company guidelines
Initiate management review of cases with potential to exceed authority level
Conduct direct negotiations or, if warranted, mediated settlement discussions
Review and approve payments within authority level
Exhibit exceptional organizational skills and computer literacy

Requirements:
Bachelors in Business or related field preferred
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
3 – 5 years experience as a Claim Examiner preferred
Adjuster Licenses
