Commercial Underwriter with Experience in Specialty Lines – Strong Marketing Skills

The Denver, CO branch is seeking a Commercial Specialty Underwriter, with underwriting experience in Professional Liability, Financial Institutions, Executive Protection, Health Care products, who is accountable for:
Position Responsibilities:
• Financial performance of a $5M+ book of business with 50 plus assigned producers to the Denver and Phoenix branch offices. Territory includes Colorado, Arizona,Utah, Nevada and New Mexico
• Achieving profitable growth.
• Soliciting, risk selection and analysis (including documentation), pricing and sales of products and services for new business.
• Successful market penetration and agency management including:
Acting as a key contact to build, maintain and manage customer/producer relationships (including regular agency visits based on business need).
Identifying opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources.
Performing front door management to filter new business and reinforce appetite.
Assist with agency planning and goal setting including monitoring of progress.
Identifying cross sell opportunities.
• Meeting with new and renewal customers, individually or as part of a Chubb team, to make sales presentations and negotiate coverage’s, price, financial terms and service delivery, as necessary.
• Meeting service standards of a customer focused strategy.
• Collecting and sharing competitor data with team.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Working knowledge of specialty underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
• Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge.
• Proven, successful, sales skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum three to five years of underwriting experience
