Aon Hewitt is currently recruiting for a Health and Benefits Consultant in the San Francisco, CA office.
Position
The Health & Benefits (H&B) Consultant will act as the lead consultant on some clients and/or support the managing consultant in servicing larger client engagements. The role involves the management of ongoing U.S. health and benefits client work for Northern California-based clients. This position will have frequent interactions with the client’s benefit manager and vendor account managers for the delivery of consulting services. Key responsibilities include the project management, vendor interface, developing of client reports, leading client meetings and identifying client needs for other consulting services.
Responsibilities:
To fulfill this role, the Consultant will:
Serve as the day to day project lead, ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and professional standards
Ensure deliver of effective and high quality services for assigned clients
Develop and manage project plans, scope of work, billing reports and budgets involving multiple workflows across many client teams.
Interface with colleagues from other practices such as global, retirement and communications on projects that address the client’s reward challenges
Develop deep relationship with client contacts through effective written and verbal communication Respond to ad-hoc client demands including technical issues, problem-solving on administrative and compliance issues
Provide subject-matter expertise on projects including program design, health care reform pricing, plan funding and employee cost-sharing, financial modeling, benchmarking, , vendor negotiations, plan renewals, vendor procurements and implementations.
Participate in new business development opportunities as part of the broader team
Provide value-added technical review of the work of the analyst staff. Act as a mentor to provide guidance and training to junior staff.
Requirements and Skills
BA/BS degree required (mathematics, human resources, business or related field preferred)
Minimum of six years of consulting, brokerage, carrier or related benefits experience
Excellent knowledge of MS Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Project)
Proven experience successfully managing multiple assignments, delivering excellent service on time within budget
Strong financial skills; prior experience in group underwriting, plan design and financial modeling preferred
Keep’s clients need ahead of own personal gain; Client focused, intellectually curious, well organized, detail oriented
Exceptional client relationship skills; listens to develop trusted client relationships and seeks to understand internal and external client issues
Demonstrates initiative and independently seeks solutions to diagnose and anticipate client issues
A professional presence with polished and exceptional communication skills
Experience leading teams to meet project objectives; ability to work independently and on a team
Required to obtain and maintain appropriate state licenses as required by state law
