Major Case Specialist (NJ / PA)
The Major Case Specialist is responsible for the action planning, objective investigation, documentation and scheme resolution of potentially fraudulent claims that involve organized criminal enterprises. The types of claims that are investigated are with a primary but not exclusive focus on large-scale, highly complex collusive activity by multiple parties and/or deliberate fraud by professional/business entities. This position provides direction to SIU Investigators on single claim investigations when related to a multi-faceted Major Case investigation and will provide proactive deterrence and complex fraud control solutions to Senior Management. The Specialist will make recommendations to SIU and claims leadership on the pursuance of civil remedies against parties/business entities that have received illicit financial benefit from Progressive.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Candidates must have a proven history of working complex insurance fraud investigations (specifically medical investigations), have experience in advanced interviewing, and possess the skills to proficiently process and analyze data.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as an investigator. Relevant experience includes prior employment as a SIU Investigator, Law Enforcement Investigative experience or Regulatory Investigator or considerable experience as an investigator in the private sector.
The preferred work location is NJ (any New Jersey Progressive office location) but we are open to placing the job in the Philadelphis area. Coverage will be NJ/PA.
The Major Case Specialist is based out of a Progressive Claims office; however, this position also requires visiting customer residences/neighborhoods, medical clinics, attorney offices, body shops, other business/government offices, other claims offices, salvage yards, and other vendors as needed. In addition, may also work out of a company vehicle that is equipped with an on board printer, camera, and other investigative tools. Hours worked may be nontraditional, including evenings and weekends and travel will be required in this position up to 50% of the time.
