PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To assist claims supervisor with claims support and/or examiner workload management; to coordinate administrative support activities in unit; and to provide guidance to claims assistants and/or claims examiners in the unit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists claims supervisor with claims support and workload management functions.
Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.
May conduct colleague performance reviews.
May assist in interviewing, hiring, and conducting performance evaluations.
Coordinates claims support and workload management functions.
Performs claims assistants' support and management functions as needed; may carry a claims workload.
Maintains a quality assurance program to support the total performance management initiative and the consistent delivery of quality claims service.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience
Four (4) years of claims management experience required. Supervisory experience preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
Leadership/management/motivational skills
Analytical and interpretive skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
