Currently, Chubb is seeking an Life Science Underwriter for its Chicago location.
The payband and title will be determined based on the background and qualifications of the candidate selected.
Position Responsibilities
As a Commercial Insurance Underwriter, you are accountable for:
• Financial performance of a book of commercial Life Science business.
• Achieving profitable growth within the Life Science business.
• Soliciting, risk selection and analysis (including documentation), pricing and sales of products and services for new business.
• Successful market penetration and agency management including:
Acting as a key contact to build, maintain and manage customer/producer relationships (including regular agency visits based on business need).
Identifying opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources.
Performing front door management to filter new business and reinforce appetite.
Assist with agency planning and goal setting including monitoring of progress.
Identifying cross sell opportunities.
• Meeting with new and renewal customers, individually or as part of a Chubb team, to make sales presentations and negotiate coverage’s, price, financial terms and service delivery, as necessary.
• Working in a team environment with Underwriters, Loss Control, Claims and Operations.
• Meeting service standards of a customer focused strategy.
• Collecting and sharing competitor data with team.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Working knowledge of commercial underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
