Current, Chubb is seeking an Underwriter focused on Executive Protection products for our Houston or Dallas, TX office.
This Production Underwriter position is part of the Department of Financial Institution (DFI) practice supporting the Dallas Region. The underwriter will contribute to the department profit, price and growth goals. The underwriter is responsible for building relationships with producers, negotiating price & coverage, developing prospects, managing profitability & retention, and meeting new business goals. The underwriter is also responsible for creating and sustaining business plans for assigned territory and agents. The candidate will work with a team of Underwriters, Customer Service Representatives, Underwriting Associates, Claims Examiners and Loss Control Representatives. This position reports to the CSI Manager. Preference is minimum of 3-4 years of field property & casualty production underwriting experience. The underwriter will be responsible for a $12.0 million dollar book of business and achieving their new business production goal. The territory supported by this position includes Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
Required Skills:
• Candidate must have a strong technical focus and underwriting knowledge of all Executive Protection products with emphasis on D&O, Crime, Kidnap/Ransom, Fiduciary, and Employment Practices Liability would be beneficial but not required.
• Candidate must demonstrate leadership, strong analytical and financial analysis skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to apply those skills with both internal and external customers.
• Candidate must also be proficient in sales, marketing and negotiation skills.
• Preferred candidate will have experience developing marketing plans and handling complex accounts.
• Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, have a proven track record of building strong business relationships with brokers and customers, and be able to negotiate to achieve rate increases and program changes as appropriate & necessary on accounts.
The job can be based in either Houston or Dallas.
