Position Description:
Join the Chubb Claim IT department to assist in the continuing development of the Claim Workstation, built upon Microsoft thin client architecture. This is a mission critical application that supports claim adjusters and other claim professionals in Chubb’s Claims Department, world-renowned for outstanding customer service. In this role you will be part of a team responsible for production support of all server components of the application, as well as the analysis, design, construction, and test of major new deliverables. Included in the job are the opportunities to
•Assume a responsible position on a large-scale software development and maintenance effort.
•Grow your technical skills in thin-client development, testing, and deployment.
•Collaborate with other high-caliber IT professionals.
Candidate responsibilities include all aspects of supporting a Claim business application, including:
•Designing and developing solutions using VB.NET, HTML, ASPX, XML, Javascript, and CSS
•Gathering and analyzing business and technical requirements.
•Inspecting business requirements and recommending solutions to meet functional requirements to support business needs.
•Delivering test plans and testing the Claims workstation applications.
•Working with business partners and technical architects to develop strategic and cost-effective solutions to meeting business needs.
Technical Skills / Experience:
•2-3 years web-based development experience, including experience with HTML and VB.NET
•Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
•Knowledge of Transactional Database Processing
•Object concepts, automated unit testing, test driven development is a plus
Other Skills / Experience:
•Demonstrated ability to produce results in the analysis, design, construction, testing and deployment of applications
•Applies technical knowledge to determine solutions and solves complex problems
•Strong problem solving and analytical skills
•Excellent business system analysis techniques
•Effective communication and negotiation skills
•Insurance industry experience, Claims a strong plus
•Works well in a team environment
