POSITION SUMMARY:
• Responsible for successfully managing multiple, medium to large sized, and moderately to highly complex projects. This may include, but is not limited to:
• Scope, plan, manage and monitor EISS IT ADM projects under responsibility
• Manage the relationship between EISS and impacted business partners at the project level
• Oversee finance and budget management, quality management, control management at project level
• Communicate, coordinate, and provide oversight for EISS applications and associated resources as the EISS department Disaster Recovery Representative
• Ability to perform as a self-starter and work independently
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Define purpose, clear roles, tasks, milestones, budgets, and measures of success for EISS IT ADM projects under responsibility
•Adhere to all Chubb Enterprise PMO IT project standards.
•Develop and maintain a resource management plan in support of the EISS IT to ensure allocation of resources with appropriate skills and/or development needs
•Conduct project and project phase kick-off meetings; ensure roles and project expectations are clearly communicated to all stakeholders
•Monitor day-to-day project activities, and proactively identify and resolve issues that would present a risk to on-time and/or on budget implementation
•Ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively, according to Chubb Enterprise PMO IT project management standards and tools
•Participate in the tracking and reporting of project metrics including Clarity and effort based MS Project Planning
•Maintain an awareness of the full EISS application program portfolio and execute IT project request prioritization and provide recommendations
•Support, contribute and collaborate with other EISS IT technical staff in the implementation of the EISS IT knowledge management process
•Participate in EISS IT and Chubb-wide project management working groups and activities to stay current on the latest project management solutions and to ensure the proposed project management processes, tools and metrics are aligned to the current and future Corporate IT objectives
•Coordinate application staff in the support and execution of two yearly disaster recovery exercises
•Ensure DR test plans, test ID’s, application run-books, etc. are up-to-date and stored appropriately
ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDED RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT Industry Knowledge
•Build and maintain a solid understanding of the major IT trends impacting the business
•Maintain a broad business and IT product knowledge, including the impact of industry trends, regulatory environment, and relevant best practices on the IT business and operations
•Drive and follow the appropriate standards, procedures and methodologies in the PMI and/or SDLC development life cycle
Business Partnership
•Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of business process and products across the business units, and establish strong working relationships with functional counterparts and vendors
•Use active listening to define business needs, and recommend the appropriate solutions based on a strong understanding of the business issue at hand
•Understand the EISS IT technology strategy and/or sourcing direction and how they impact the relationships with specific vendors
Teamwork
•Manage individual workload and deliver to agreed upon milestones
•Proactively promote consistent project-based performance measurement and skills development of staff
•Demonstrate strong ability to work in a team environment and foster cross-team collaboration
•Create a strong morale and spirit in the EISS IT team through fostering open dialogue and collaborative atmosphere
Knowledge Sharing -
•Promote the use of knowledge management and knowledge sharing processes and tools
•Share/leverage successful products, processes and practices across EISS IT
•Assist in evaluating knowledge sharing tools and making recommendations for knowledge management improvements
•Ensure documentation is captured appropriately and is easily assessable to the team members
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor's Degree (required) or Master's Degree (preferred)
•5-7 years of combined business, project management, team leadership, and technology experience
•4-6 years of project management experience and in managing client relationships (internal/external)
•Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management or Professional (PMP) certification strongly desired
•Excellent project management skills, including ability to execute and prioritize a number of tasks simultaneously, and experience managing cross-functional teams
•Proven financial management experience
•Understanding of IT environments, technologies in relation to business needs
•Proven practical experience with analysis and/or support for business processes
•Experience using enterprise project management application such as Clarity
•Experience in initiating, conducting and facilitating discussions with multiple stakeholders, and ability to translate the results and issues at hand to the business and to the IT teams
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills
•Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
