Commercial Property/Casualty Underwriter - 5+ years Exp

Currently, Chubb is seeking a Commercial Property/Casualty Underwriter in our Phoenix Branch office handling 45 agents in the state of Arizona.
Responsibilities:
• Achieving profitable growth in commercial package business within the following lines of business/market segments: Package, Auto, Work Comp, Umbrella and International coverages for a wide variety of commercial accounts. These accounts include real estate managers, broadcasters, manufacturers, printers and general commercial business.
• Underwriting an assigned book of business consisting of $5.5 million in renewal business plus assigned new business production. Accountable for retention, rate and profitability within assigned book of business.
• Managing controllable expenses and budgeting for your assigned territory
• Overseeing successful marketing and agency management including: 1) Conducting agency planning and goal setting including continual monitoring of progress. 2) Building, maintaining and managing customer/producer relationships (including regular agency visits based on business need). 3) Identifying opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources. 4) Responsible for producer education for business generation and reinforce appetite. 5) Soliciting, risk selection and analysis (including documentation), pricing and sales of products and services for new business. 6) Meeting with new and renewal customers to make sales presentations and negotiate coverage's, price, financial terms and service delivery, as necessary.
• Working in a team environment with Underwriters, Loss Control, Claims and Operations and partnering with the Underwriting Center.
• Meeting service standards of a customer focused strategy.
• Collaborating with other departments within the branch to achieve branch financial goals; collecting and sharing competitor data within the Branch.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Strong business acumen, analytical and consulting skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and coaching skills with peers and associates
• Advanced knowledge of commercial underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
• Advanced technical expertise and product specific knowledge.
• Proven, successful, sales skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively interact with and influence all levels of internal and external business partners.
• Experience developing marketing plans and handling complex accounts.
• Ability to adapt to a changing market place and business environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum five years of underwriting experience
